A heavy-power that is as direct and in-your-face as it can be. I find it slightly better than the last album of Manitou - Deadlock – both in production and in songs. Even Markku’s voice seems to have been improved a bit, seeming to be more controlled now. In my humble opinion, the weak points of No Signs of Wisdom are the lack of originality (the biggest reason for the score) on the one hand, and the song August Sky on the other hand; I just can’t see why they had to make it 11-minutes long, to be honest. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad song, it’s just... too long. For the rest, many riffs, classic heavy solos, a powerful voice supported by good drums sound, and that’s about it. What I really liked about this album was Polluted World and its groove. It is a little out of the picture if you look at the album as a whole (instrumentally it leans to the glam side) but it sounds really good. I listened to this album a few times; the last time I lost my patience and started to skip tracks, but you don’t have to take my word for it. Listen and make up your own mind.
