I hadn’t listened to a Spanish band in a long time and, as I am rather inclined towards this matter, I jumped on Silver Fist immediately. The first impact was impressive: a heavy/thrash in force, having its trump cards in the capable vocalist and the rhythmical section that is heavy as a tank, while being dynamic at the same time. As an addes bonus, the sound is fat and aggressive like an angry bouncer, produced by Fredrik Nordström in the Fredman studio. But it didn’t take long before Tears of Blood managed to dissolve the joy of these revelations, as I was discovering that there was nothing else to be discovered there. Or, at least, nothing but the few diaphanous female vocals that accompany some of the choruses in the background. I would be lying if I said that the tumultuous riffs, menacing choruses and melodious solos are bad, but they are just not impressive, they just don’t rise about what I have already heard times and times before. Who knows, perhaps in the original version of the album the lyrics in Spanish would have brought a special charm, because this English re-release doesn’t have it anymore. A correct and straight album, well played, solidly produced, but without personality and brilliance.

Silverfist "Lágrimas de sangre/ Tears of blood" is a good CD. Silver is a legend in the Heavy Metal music in Spain, since the times of Muro ("Acero y Sangre", "Telón de Acero", "Mutant Hunter", "Pacto de Sangre", "Peligro Inminente", "Corazón de Metal" & "Porsiempre"); Venganza ("Jaque Mate" & "Contra el Final del Milenio") and now Silverfist ("Ave Fenix" & "Lágrimas de Sangre")
I didn't say it's bad.
Yes Klawz, you didn't say. I had a mistake: the album where I've put "Porsiempre", it's really "Este Muro no se Cae", excuse me, guys. Por siempre Muro, por siempre Silverfist, por siempre Metalfan, por siempre Metal!
