Anders Bjorler (AT THE GATES): metal is a universal language
BANDS : At the Gates

Metalfan: Hello Anders! What's new with At The Gates?
Anders Bjorler: Apart from the reunion not much. We just came back from Japan which was excellent for us. This is going to be a summer to remember...

Metalfan: What is the big difference between the metalfans from Asia and the metalfans from Europe??
Anders Bjorler: It's just about different cultures really. Metal is a universal language. From touring alot I've learned that no matter where you travel, there will always be metalheads.

Metalfan: What do you expect of this reunion tour? What made you come back togheter?
Anders Bjorler: I just expect to have alot of fun and giving our fans a last chance to see us. We had talked about a reunion for years, but this was the first time period when all came togheter.

Metalfan: How does it feel to be again on stage with At The Gates after all these years?
Anders Bjorler: It feels good, but the music also feels a little out-dated, so I guess it was the right thing
to do to limit the reunion to this summer only. It's basically like having a good time with friends you
haven't seen in  a while.

Metalfan: What is your favorite At The Gates album?
Anders Bjorler: I like something from all albums, but I think Terminal Spirit Disease (1994) or Slaughter of the Soul (1995) might be faves.

Metalfan: What do you think about the fact that many bands from the New Wave of American Metal note At The Gates as a huge influence? Also many bands with a sound closer to metalcore than melodic death note you as a influence...
Anders Bjorler: I feels good to have influenced people with our music.

Metalfan: What do you think it will hapen with At The Gates after this tour? How long do you think it gonna last this tour?
Anders Bjorler: It's already set until September this year. After that we will continue to tour with The Haunted.

Metalfan: This tour is also a big chance for the people who didn't seen At The Gates live so far, do you intend to play a show or a couple of shows here in Romania, as you never played here before...
Anders Bjorler: Not as it looks right now. You probably have to travel somewhere to see us. It's hard to cover all the world's countries in a small limited tour. Sorry!

Metalfan: Any plans for releasing new songs or maybe re-releasing old ones?
Anders Bjorler: There are no plans for any new records or compilations. We won't make any more music together under the name At the Gates.

Metalfan: I know that you will also play three shows if I'm right in July along Repulsion in USA. At The Gates and Repulsion, two legends on the same stage, how this thing happen?
Anders Bjorler: We wanted them on the tour, so we just asked them. It's gonna be killer!

Metalfan: Who choosed the bands that will open for you, Darkest Hour and Municipal Waste? I know that you don't listen to much new metal, mostly old bands...
Anders Bjorler: They are friends of ours. We tried to bring some of the older bands along, but it didn't really work out.

Metalfan: I've heared rumours about a DVD release are they true? When will this thing happen? Do you have any material ready  for it so far?
Anders Bjorler: We have some material for it, but the shows aren't filmed yet. The initial plan is to film at least two - three concerts and then produce some kind of documentary as well. More news about this later this year.

Metalfan: Thank you for your time Anders! In the end would you like to send few words to our readers and your fans from Romania?
Anders Bjorler. Thanks for your support. If you can't attend any of the shows, we'll definately try to produce a really interesting DVD for you. Thanks for the interview!
