DECONSTRUCTING SEQUENCE - Access Code

What does „progressive” mean? Is something that goes forward every time, isn’t it? Even though, nowadays we have straight formulas concerning progressiveness. If you go crazy in exploring your ways of expression, you would be seen as the unexciting kind. But that is all about various industries. We noticed here and there that progressive music or avant-garde approaches should be executed in a specific manner. But generally speaking, I think we all can be aware of the fact that this is a lie, no matter the lack of truth in human life.

Deconstructing Sequence is a band with members from UK and Poland who know how to make progressive music and I make this assumption just because their sound can send you somewhere beyond horizon. This year, they brought us a new EP, Acces Code and I hadn’t felt this specific kind of enthusiasm for something since Abigor released Time Is the Sulphur in the Veins of the Saint - An Excursion on Satan's Fragmenting Principle, in 2010. Actually, the enthusiasm is greater since Deconstructing Sequence has to do more with death metal and less with black metal, or at least, it is all related to a polished mixture of these two things. Today, black metal became a bit complicated.

Acces Code is a kaleidoscope of possibilities, based on tones, pulse, visions and experiment. Sometimes, you can sense aggressive and mystic blasts that remind of Emperor, complex and dark riffs like those provided by Dødheimsgard a while ago, or melodic and atmospheric synthesized sounds similar to certain Arcturus passages. But more than that, this EP means pure and wonderful fiction, both musically and lyrically. That is why musical references cannot reveal much. The certain fact is that Deconstructing Sequence can deliver many types of musical structures and tons of mind states within a material that spins only for 16 minutes. Otherwise, all instruments, vocals and samples are fantastically equalized and so all the musical layers can bring to light the powerful creativity that underlay this music. You cannot hear every day technical riffs and drumming having so much substance.

Acces Code is already the second EP produced by Deconstructing Sequence and contains two songs. For the first one, A Habitable World is Found, our man, Costin Chioreanu made an animated video that exhibits futuristic landscapes as background for a cosmic journey that ends in an undesirable way for the preservation of the human survival instinct.
The video presents just a fragment of the song but definitely, you can find more hypnotic arrangements on the audio material. The second song, We have the Acces Code is a genuine lesson of technical metal music, featuring a great feeling of interplanetary contamination and it’s rendered by a melodic break on order to build a more brutal virtual world.
Instead of conclusion, I will just leave the following words here: „There’s no such thing as luck/No fortunate turn of events / We navigate on our own/Between the stars.”
