BON JOVI - Lost Highway

First, I asked myself if Lost Highway had any business here: it’s not metal, just rock, and not even hard rock, but rather country-pop-rock (as some would have it). But as we’ve had stranger things happen, here goes nothing. Most of the album gives a good mood, each song with its little story; I guess it’s ideal to listen to and hum along when you’re driving on a highway. There are some melancholic songs, such as Make A Memory, Seat Next to You or Stranger (helped by the beautiful voice of Leann Rimes), but most of them are lively and merry, like Summertime, Lost Highway, Any Other Day si I Love This Town. Never trying to be particularly deep, borrowing elements from old Bon Jovi hits (for instance, We Got It Going On is pretty similar to Bad Medicine or Livin’ on a Prayer), I would classify it to a source of positive feeling, shallow, but sometimes so necessary; it'll make you turn the volume way up, tap the beat on the steering wheel and push the gas pedal hard. Not recommended to speed maniacs!
