Krakow releases new single featuring Phil Campbell with an animated video
While putting in readiness the fourth full-length’s launch, which marks 13 years of the band’s existence, Norwegian genre-bending group Krakow unveils an animated video for the first single taken from the upcoming release. Including the surprising guest appearance of Motörhead’s Phil Campbell with his strings-enterprise, the new song “black wandering sun” reveals the most powerful definition of Krakow’s musical approach so far, a reverie built out of airy melodies and heavy rhythms, which is still characteristic of the band’s signature that reshaped the stoner and sludge aesthetics. The video which accompanies this new single gives a lot a space to „breath”, so go and check for yourselves.

The new album took about one year to be done and will be released on the 31st of August via Karisma Records, under the title “minus”. As for the single which you are listening to now and its motion-illustration created by Esteban Sebastián Farias, the musicians of Krakow described it as “an homage to our heroes who passed during the last couple of years, pulling inspiration from their universe, tipping the hat to their words and visiting them as the stars they are.” They stated farther: “And to top it off we were helped out by Phil who did the most rock’n’ roll solo to provide the glitz and stardom the song needed to reach the summit of heaviness. The video is a reflection of the story the song tells, yet it becomes its own story, like a parallel trail through the universe, much like everything else that’s going on with this album. Godspeed, you Starman!
