Death metal act Carnation unveils the first single with video taken from the debut album
With a pretty specific name and sound in the realm of death metal, Antwerp-based act Carnation unveils the first specimen from the upcoming debut album, following the EP “Cemetery of the Insane” released in 2015, and a live material recorded at the Deathfest in Tokyo. We are therefore confronted with a young group which is capable of taking old ways as well. Carnation got already established in the awareness of the death metal fans given the performances at various European festivals and the touring experiences along with Pestilence in Brazil. Today we have the premiere of the “Chapel of Abhorrence”, the first single representing the title-track taken from the debut full-length, which is set for release on the 17th of August.

After you watch this, reading the band’s statement will shed some light on this video depicting typical metalheads performing in a very imposing architectural setting, and the concept embraced by the band. “Every religion builds houses for their gods,” the Carnation members said. «Believers go to these houses to pray and strengthen their belief. Christians go to church, Muslims go to mosques... In comparison, the “Chapel of Abhorrence” is where deviants go to embrace their foul desires. It oozes with depravity. It’s the house of sin, the home to perversion and the realm of repulsion.»
